Signs of the Times: Suffering

Pope Benedict admits there isn't a full answer to suffering

This really should be restated that he, as spiritual leader of most of the professing christian world (directly and indirectly) does not have the full answer to the reason for suffering in the world.

The short answer is that Satan is the god of this world (Ephesians 2:2; 2 Corinthians 4:4) and we are the product of our own selfish ways. God is mostly in a hands off role, that is until the restoration of all things (Acts 3:19-21).
